The Dream Announces New Album LoveHate 2, Talks About Cowboy Carter and More On The Ebro, Laura, and Rosenberg Show

On the latest episode of the Ebro, Laura, and Rosenberg Show, the show hosted award winning producer, The-Dream. After the trio discussed the producer’s golfing skills, they asked The-Dream about his contributions to Beyoncé’s GRAMMY award-winning Album of the Year, Cowboy Carter.

At the 35:20 mark, The Dream discussed how he takes her input seriously to get the best version of any song out. He said, "She’s going to work and outwork you. [She’ll] stay there all morning, and wait for you to get back [to continue working.]".

Ebro asks the producer about their collaboration skills in blues, rock, R&B, and even country, which were displayed in Cowboy Carter. When asked about his favorite song from Cowboy Carter, The Dream says "Oh Louisiana" is his favorite as it’s a tribute to Chuck Barry and the building blocks of the album’s sound. Rosenberg also talked to The Dream about the song "Bodyguard", and Dream cited Raphael Saadiq brought the song to the studio.

After the discussion, The Dream says at the 43:00 mark that he will release his new album, "LoveHate2", around his birthday in the Fall. It will be his first mainstream album since IV Play in 2013. Throughout the interview, the hosts ask Dream for insight into his work with major clients as a songwriter while creating his own musical works.

He says he puts himself in the perspective of the "ice cream they’re trying to sell to the customers… eventually becoming the artists themselves". He revealed that he primarily wanted to be a songwriter, citing that his first music songwriting cut came from B2K’s "Everything" in 2002.

The Dream also teased Beyoncé having music "in the stockpile" at the 52:00 mark, along with Rihanna. At the 59:00 mark, he states how Rihanna is one of the best A&Rs ever, crediting her amazing ear for music.
