Detroit vs. Everyone! One of hip-hop’s most eccentric and exciting voices returns with a new collaborative project, "Push & Paint", which is now available at all DSP’s. You can also watch the new video for "Ask Yourself", featuring G.T., below.
Helping to further celebrate 3:13 day in Detroit (an unofficial holiday, which honors the city’s culture and history) Push & Paint is produced in its entirety by fellow Detroiter and multidisciplinary artist Sheefy Mcfly, and the project features guest appearances from BabyTron, Sada Baby, Akeem Ali & Payroll Giovanni.
Push & Paint follows Bruiser’s breakout projects (POTLUCK & Made By Dope), both of which garnered heavy cultural recognition and mass attention from artists and fans alike, including Anderson .Paak and "he's my favorite rapper" nod from Kevin Durant.
A vital member of Danny Brown’s Bruiser Brigade, Bruiser Wolf has emerged as one of hip-hop’s most rapidly ascending artists. Known for his off-kilter delivery, inventive storytelling, and singular style, Bruiser has carved out his own lane while representing Detroit’s uncompromising creative spirit.
"Sheefy initially came to me to do a feature, but the chemistry was so good we decided to do a few songs, which turned into a full project", Bruiser explained. "We wanted to do something fresh, something different. Something for Detroit! We also wanted to bridge the gaps between all the different rap scenes in the city. Thankfully, we had some of Detroit’s biggest stars show up and assist".
Sheefy Mcfly adds, "With Push & Paint, I wanted to create a multi-layered portrait using art and production to illustrate a masterpiece of Bruiser Wolf. The stripped-down, hip-hop drum and bass production gives simplicity and room for Wolf to become an instrument with his lyrics and hooks. While making the beats, I imagined hearing this album in the summer in Detroit, blasting out of cars heading to Belle Isle, setting the soundscape for the season, giving the world a taste of uncut Detroit Hip Hop".
The cover art for Push & Paint will be showing at Sheefy's show at the Art Leaders Gallery in Detroit from March 20th through April 18th.
Bruiser Wolf & Sheefy Mcfly’s "Push & Paint" is now available via Fake Shore Drive.
