Joey Majors and Big Yount are pleased to announce the release of their new EP, “Full Moon". The first single "On The Wood", and the second single and video “Above The Rim” featuring the Brooklyn rap duo Smif-N-Wessun have already been released. The EP is available on all streaming platforms. The friends and ex-bandmates met in New Jersey when they were both members of different hip-hop groups. There was an immediate connection between the two talented young men with similar viewpoints and musical ambitions. Majors and Yount musical journeys were both inspired by their fathers. Yount grew up surrounded by music because his dad was a percussionist for Evelyn "Champagne" King, Kool & The Gang, and Instant Funk. When his dad got him a Dr. Rhythm Drum Machine, he discovered he had a gift for creating music. Joey Major's dad passed away when he was young, but as a teenager, Joey connected to his late father by exploring his record collection. Both boys' fathers had eclectic tastes, which would play an essential role in their work together. Soon after they met, Joey and Yount’s rap groups broke up. Producer Yount would start working on a new sound and play some of his tracks for Joey and their friends. His latest creations were a fusion of hip-hop, rock, punk, and jazz. Joey had never heard anything like it and knew immediately that they could create something unique. That's when the Philadelphia-based band Bunjii was born. Joey rapped and sang, and Yount made the tracks and also rapped. The duo and their fellow band members lived like rockstars and came close to signing a multi-million dollar label deal before Bunjii broke up.
Over the years Big Yount has produced with and worked under Dr. Dre. He has produced for Puff Daddy, Lil Zane, Cam'ron, Jim Jones, and Natalie Cole, to name a few. He recently created music for Rihanna's Savage x Fenty fashion experience. Majors recently released his album "Wolf In Sheep Clothing". The deluxe version was released late this March. With features from Splash God, Big Yount, ETO, and many more. Over the past two years, Joey has collaborated with Mobb Deep, Benny The Butcher from Griselda, Jadakiss, 38 Spesh, Boldly James, Mooch (da cloth), Rigz (da cloth), and Stove God Cooks. And he also released the hit single "The Plug" with The Game. "Full Moon" started when Joey sent Yount a track from VIP Life youngest producer JXSAMURAI, created. Fifteen minutes later, Big Yount returned the track with his part on it. Then Joey added his feature and realized that they had the beginning of a new EP.
The "Full Moon" EP features tracks such as "Art of War", "Full Moon", and "300" and has features by Thavid Ruffin, GREA8GAWD, and Flash & Journalist, and an “On the Wood” remix that features Havoc of Mobb Deep fame.
