OFB’s Akz is showing zero signs of slowing down this year with the release of his latest mixtape "The Come Up 1".
He also dropped the visuals to "Bak2Bak" ft. fellow OFB member Double Lz produced by F12 & Slipperyhaze. This drill heater shows the two rappers spitting back to back throughout the track in a warehouse.
Akz is the newest member of the OFB crew hailing from Broadwater Farm in North London. OFB are the most notable crew in UK drill, with members including Bandokay and Double Lz.
The young rapper hit fame after success on Fumez The Engineers "Plugged In" which has now racked over 4.5 million streams on Spotify. The Londoner has also reached over 2 million streams with the song "Far From Over" and over 1.5 million on "Farm All Stars" which features his fellow crew members.
The mixtape contains 2 pre-released songs which have already created a buzz including "Staycation" which has hit over 250k views on his own YouTube channel and nearly 200k on Spotify and “Trust” his latest release. The project also contains 12 unreleased songs, with multiple features some include Headie One, RV, Kush and Double Lz.
"Staycation" was released in September and set the expectations for the project. The melodic beat produced by Sensei caused a scene with fans showcasing the potential Akz has to offer. The project is filled with cruddy bars over cold eerie instrumental beats, including "Movie Night" about life on the farm. The catchy lyrical bars that are “Round there is like a movie night, If you move to the left, Might do you right”, can be heard throughout the introduction of the track. As Akz tells us about the realities of life with his postcode.
The ninth track on the project is dedicated to his ends "Broadwater Farm 6IX" featuring Bobby 6ix. The song features Akz rapping for his North London postcode and what goes down in his ends. Showcasing the young rapper's versatility, combining the love for dancehall with drill is what gives this tune its unique sound.
Each track keeps in line with his notable style and versatility, seeing topics touched such as; life on road, girls, beef and his crew. Akz is cementing himself as a promising member of OFB and is proving he is truly unstoppable.
