Multi-talented Protege of Missy Elliott Sharaya J

 

Entertainer Sharaya J is the protege of Hip-Hop icon Missy Elliott.  She began her career choreographing dances which led her to be a featured dancer for high-profile musicians such as Diddy, Ciara, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, The-Dream, and Rihanna. Her hard work landed her a role as a dancer in Step Up 2: The Streets and Step Up 3D.

Multi-talented Sharaya J wanted to let the world know that dancing wasn’t all she could do. The result was her singles BANJI and Smash Up The Place, which instantly attracted over 2 million views on Youtube and 18 million streams collectively. Sharaya J launched her own production company Banji Entertainment. The word BANJI is an acronym for what is her personal affirmation, “Be Authentic Never Jeopardize Individuality”. In 2018, Sharaya joined the music competition program The Four: Battle for Stardom with judges Meghan Trainer, DJ Khalid and former employer Diddy. Night after night, she fought to keep her seat. Against the odds, Sharaya J obtained the title for the longest seat holder and runner up of Season 2. But that wasn’t the only battle Sharaya was fighting, she courageously made a shocking announcement that she was also battling Stage 2 Breast Cancer. A survivor on all home fronts, Sharaya continued her journey to living out her dreams.

Known for her high-fashion looks, Sharaya J joined forces with fashion designer Alexander Wang starring in his T by Alexander Wang campaign and becoming a brand ambassador for his line. In 2020 amidst COVID-19, Sharaya J released her single NUNU, a pop anthem proudly displaying her renewed self and passion.

Sharaya J was recently featured in a Sister Act 2 Medley, created by famous Broadway Youtuber and producer, Micahel Korte. With already receiving over 90K views in less than 1 week, Sharaya J showcases both her musical and rhythmic talents. With rapping in both the “Be somebody” and “Joyful Joyful” songs. Sister Act star, Whoppi Goldberg even praised the Sister Act 2 Medley cast on the daytime show The View. She stated that the cast was “extraordinary” and referred to the medley as a “fabulous arrangement.”
