Strong Island, NY emcee Chubs has dropped an early holiday gift this morning. New loosie, “Paper Cuts” should get any boom-bap fan’s head nodding with a raucous beat and scratches (courtesy of Eitan Noyze AKA Lord Jewish) and a guest verse from the legendary Dinco D (Leaders Of The New School).
Speaking of the inspiration for the track Chubs said “the hook was inspired by that character from Goodfellas, Jimmy Two Times, where he says ‘get the papers, get the papers.’ That’s the vibe, get the paper until you get paper cuts from counting it all.”
In regards to Dinco on the track he revealed “Dinco and the Leaders were from the same place as me. A few years ago we met at a PMD recording session at Charlie Marotta’s studio. We got to chopping it up and he’s been like the big bro ever since.”
