(New Exclusive Interview) Big Ferf Talks Music And New Project With Hip Hop On Deck

1. How long have you been creating music?

I have been creating for six years, since I was 17 years old.

2. How did you get the name Big Fref?

I got the name Big Ferf from my family. They would call me Kristo fa fer, then it slowly just became Ferf.

3. Breakdown your style and sound?

I would consider my style a mix of the old school 90s focus on bars and storytelling, with a new school emphasis on a having fun. I would describe my sound as a balance between the Atlanta sound, boom bap sound, with a sprinkle of the the Bay Area.

4. How does your environment effect the type of music that you create?

My environment is a huge influence on my music. Most of what I'm talking about is a commentary on what I've seen, experienced, or felt. So the music is coming from a real place whether it be angry, hyphy, sad, or happy.

5. What is the concept behind the single “On My God.”?

The concept of "Oh My God" was an interpretation of the chorus. When we sent the song to Lightweight he came back with a vibey chorus. My interpretation of it was how I felt about my life and where I am currently, as well as how I would love to turn all my negatives into positives. "The chain with the frost, colder then the pain with the lose" embodied how I felt about life in general. Always keep your head up no matter what and sooner or later you the issues your facing will mold you into a better person.

6. Where do you see your brand and career in the next couple of days?

I see my brand and career stay on a consist rise in the next couple of days. I'm working on locking in a headline performance at a new venue in town which will feature not on hip hop artist but live painters as well
