SOB X RBE MEMBER AT WORK ON FULL-LENGTH SOLO DEBUT
Bay Area rapper Yhung T.O. has shared the video for his new single “Referee.” Featuring DaBoii Yhung T.O.’s bandmate in the Vallejo-bred collective SOB x RBE “Referee” was released via Rule #1/Interscope Records.
In the cinematic video for “Referee,” Yhung T.O. juxtaposes images of California sunshine with grittier scenes like an on-foot police chase through neighborhood streets. That contrast mirrors the mix of bright, bouncy melody and emotionally charged vocals at the heart of the song — a Koast-produced track that HotNewHipHop hailed as a “marriage of infectious, head-nodding production and somber reflections of the come-up.”
Now at work on his first full-length solo project, Yhung T.O. signed to Interscope in early 2018 and made his debut for the label with a single called “Misunderstood.” The 19-year-old rapper co-founded SOB x RBE in 2015, and saw the group achieve breakout success when their song “Paramedic!” appeared on the hit soundtrack Black Panther: The Album.
