Interscope Records emcee Kamaiyah is ushering in a summertime anthem with the release of her new single, “Addicted to Ballin’.” Laced with heavy bass, fitting the west coast’s classic sound, Kamaiyah and Top Dawg Entertainment’s ScHoolboy Q rap about their flagrant pursuit of money on the catchy, mid-tempo track. However, Kamaiyah will be flipping the script for the release of her single by surprising unsuspecting Oakland residents as part of her #AddictedToBallinGiveaway. The Oakland native has been steadily making a name for herself. With two mixtapes under her belt, A Good Night in the Ghetto (2016) and Before I Wake (2017), Kamaiyah’s buzz earned her a spot in XXL’s 2017 Freshman Class. The Coachella-alum most will join an impressive lineup at the BET Experience on June 23. In addition to music, Kamaiyah showcased her acting chops this year, starring alongside NBA superstar Lebron James in a commercial for Sprite’s ‘Big Taste’ campaign.
