Compton’s native son, Phonk P is one of the hottest rappers in the West Coast right now. He released his “GangTapes” project on Spotify and Apple Music this past November and is doing extraordinary numbers across the board. On April 10th., Phonk P dropped a new visual “Stay Strapped” from his “GangTapes” mixtape. The Compton MC teams up with up and coming First lm director Brit Banks and talented videographer D Cortez Media for the controversial video. “Stay Strapped” provides viewers the ins and outs of life in Compton Ca and features scenes from the award winning short film “Thicke”. Phonk P touches on current events highlighting police brutality, racism, death and most importantly the pain and grief that is experienced by those who it affects. One of the hidden messages behind “Stay Strapped” conveys the message that Black lives Matter and police brutality must be stopped!

Phonk P isn’t letting his foot off the gas. He has linked up with rapper Sean Kompton, an artist formerly a part of the rap group “LA Kings” which was under “The Games” label Rolex Boyz. April 20th, they will be releasing “90222”, defining a new wave of music from the Compton Spitter. It features collaborations from his label mates Fred Blaze and Stonah4rmthatown. The project, 90222 will also be produced by DeadBeatz genius producers Marvel Mayne & GooseTheGuru, both have worked with artists like Trippie Redd, Cuban Doll, and Zay Hilfiger among others.
