LOUIS THE CHILD RELEASES “SHAKE SOMETHING” FEATURING JOEY PURP
Today marks the premiere of Louis the Child’s new single “Shake Something” ft. Joey Purp via all digital retailers. Listen HERE. Based in L.A. and originally from Chicago, Louis the Child is made up of producers Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett.
On “Shake Something,” Louis the Child expand their sound and production style to offer up a moody hip-hop slow-burner. With its heavy synth and ever-shifting beats, the track showcases the intense vocal delivery of the duo’s fellow Chicago native Joey Purp.
“Shake Something” arrives on the heels of Honey, a collaborative mixtape released by Louis the Child and Chicago-bred producer Whethan last month. The six-track instrumental mixtape earned praise from Billboard, who noted that Louis the Child “slap their forward-thinking ingenuity on every production, showing off zippery basslines, complex percussion patterns and more.”
Having recently wrapped up a European tour, Louis the Child will appear at a series of major festivals this spring and summer including Coachella and Electric Forest as well as a headlining show at Red Rocks onMay 10. Last fall, Joey Purp joined the duo for a number of dates on their extensive North American headlining tour that included sold out shows at LA’s Palladium, NY’s Terminal 5 and Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom.
