RICH THE KID’S DEBUT ALBUM THE WORLD IS YOURS OUT MARCH 30
“NEW FREEZER” AND “PLUG WALK” NOW CHARTING ON BILLBOARD HOT 100
On March 30, Rich The Kid will release his debut album The World Is Yours on Interscope Records/ Rich Forever Music. The New York-bred rapper currently has two tracks charting on the Billboard Hot 100: “Plug Walk” (at #62) and “New Freezer” ft. Kendrick Lamar (at #53.)
Wednesday night at the Brit Awards, Lamar announced the release date for The World Is Yoursduring his performance of “New Freezer.” With Rich The Kid joining him onstage, Lamar added a new line to the track: “Rich The Kid’s album on the way, March 30, save the date.”
The new single, “Plug Walk,” was released on February 8 and has amassed over 9 million streams and 68k consumption units. Produced by Lab Cook, the single was featured as Zane Lowe’s World Record on his Beats 1 show earlier this month. Rich’s first single, “New Freezer,” has had a total of 88 million streams in the US to date. “New Freezer” is currently #14 at Urban Radio.
The first single quickly sparked the “New Freezer Challenge”—a viral dance competition where fans have been uploading videos swaying to the song's beat. Along with boosting streams of “New Freezer,” the ongoing viral craze has helped lift the track’s YouTube views to over 40 million.
Rich The Kid made his solo debut in 2014 with Flexin on Purpose, an EP featuring Fetty Wap, Ty Dolla $ign, and others. Over the next two years, he released his second project (2016’s Trap Talk) and launched his own imprint, Rich Forever Music. Signing with Interscope Records in June 2017, Rich The Kid has been featured in XXL, Complex, and more. 2018 is set to be a milestone year for Rich The Kid as he gears up for the release of The World Is Yours—what he’s called “the greatest album of 2018.”
