Well, Weedie has been my nickname since I was 4 years old and TheGod comes from my original rap name G.O.D The Legend. The acronym means Greatness On Display. Weedie TheGod, was this your first rap name and if not, what was your other rap names?
No, my original name was G.O.D The Legend3. Weedie TheGod, where were you born and raised?
And how did your environment effect the type of music that you create? I was born in Landstuhl,Germany on an Air Force base and I was raised in 1st ward Lackawanna,New York. It was a low class to middle class environment, drugs, prostitution, police racism. But it was a very family oriented place, big sports city full of athletes, we didn't fear much growing up, not much gun violence, we were known for being great fighters. I appreciate what my city has made me.4. Weedie TheGod, Lets talk about "In God We Trust." What is the concept behind this project and how long did it take you to complete it?
The concept behind In God We Trust is that I want the fans to know that they can trust me to give them real rap and to give them quality music they can trust and believe in. I wanted them to get the very best product I could possibly make. The project only took a month and a half to record.
5. Weedie theGod, who are some of the people you worked with on this project and what do you feel they bung to the project?
I really didn't have any features, just on this song called "Spend the Night" I had an up and coming singer Chanel on there and her and hip pop singer J3 do background on "Hella Weed". Production wise I worked with Debonere out of Charlotte, NC and Caleb Sarikey from Hamburg, NY. I feel like everything just came together and nothing was forced,it all just flowed naturally.6. Weedie TheGod, you just dropped a single called "Hella Weed." How did this record come about and how long did it take you to record it?
Well as you can tell I love weed lol, so it really wasn't a hard concept because I smoke it and had some dealings with it in the streets so I had the hook ready and I actually wrote my verses on my way to the studio and J3 added the Hella Weed melody and it only took less than an hour to complete.7. The next 5 years I see my brand global and my music continuing to grow and evolve. I WILL be the "GOD" of hip hop and any other ventures I pursue.
