With their new music video for "OhblivioUS", Chicago rapper Gyasi Kamau and producer Ohbliv
shine a light on the ongoing Chicago violence.Senseless violence and
crime is at an all time high in America's heartland. Shootings of youth
have become the norm for Chicago news."OhblivioUS" begins with a nod to
JFK's iconic "Ask not what you can do for your country" speech and
concludes with singing reminiscent of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On".
Gyasi Kamau provides social commentary and asks the questions we all
wonder when we catch wind of the Windy City violence using a poetic flow
laced with internal rhyme. Ohbliv's soulful production combined with
newsroom visuals make "OhblivioUS" more than just a music video - its a
public service announcement.
