Maine Montana was born Jermain McKinney in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Maine Montana grew up listening to music especially Hip-Hop. He fell in love with Hip-Hop when he herd tracks from N.W.A. At the age of fifteen, but he didn’t take it serious because his mind was still on the streets. He ran the streets until he was arrested and served three years in prison. While in prison he did a lot of soul searching and serious thinking about his life and the future. He then realized that music is his love and he needed to devote more time to his music career and reaching his goals.
Once Maine Montana was out of jail he started to devote more time to his music. He knows that the people who influenced him to consider music such as 2Pac, Nas and Jay Z struggled to get where they currently are. Maine Montana started to search for a reliable studio and networking with Producers and DJs to help circulate his music. He knew it wasn’t going to be easy, which it wasn’t but as time progressed; Maine Montana still persevered to obtain his dream of making it in the music industry.
