ScarLip - "Scarred B4 Fame" EP

The Bronx's rising rap star ScarLip has officially dropped her highly anticipated debut EP, "Scarred B4 Fame", via Epic Records. The seven-track project showcases her growing versatility and fearless authenticity, with standout features from rap icon Lil Wayne, soul legend Anthony Hamilton, and even a cameo from the Queen of Hip Hop Soul herself, Mary J. Blige.

The project kicks off with the fiery "Pop That" featuring Lil Wayne and closes on a soulful note with "Lord Please", a heartfelt collaboration with Hamilton. In between, ScarLip balances grit and vulnerability, from the bold celebration of Black beauty in "Melanin" to the breezy NYC summer vibes of "Eastside". A standout moment includes her poignant "Runaway Love Freestyle", which continues her mission of being a voice for the voiceless.

ScarLip premiered the EP at a special event in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, attended by fans, media, and mentors, including longtime supporter Swizz Beatz. The following day, she appeared on ABC News with JuJu Chang, opening up about her evolution from poet to rapper and her musical therapy.

Since her 2023 breakout hit "This Is New York", ScarLip has had a meteoric rise, catching the attention of industry heavyweights like Cardi B and Busta Rhymes, landing a spot on the "Bad Boys: Ride or Die" soundtrack, and earning her place on XXL’s prestigious 2024 Freshman Cover.

"Scarred B4 Fame" is ScarLip, debut and she is here to stay, proudly repping the New York sound while revealing every side of her story. "It’s not just the dark side", she says. "It’s the bright side, the lover girl side, the fun side". Her message to fans? "Give yourself grace. Keep at it. You’re doing a good job".
