Hip-hop artist 42 Dugg has teamed up with Sexyy Red to drop "N.P.O.", a bass-heavy anthem marking the start of summer. The track, available via CMG Records/4PF/Interscope Records, features fiery verses from both artists, with a hook that boldly states, "She ain’t got no panties on".
"N.P.O." serves as a preview of 42 Dugg’s upcoming album "4eva Us, Neva Them", slated for release on July 4. In the song, Dugg flaunts his success, rapping lines like, "Chanel link with the pearls on it / I don’t care how much it cost, I said my girl want it." Sexyy Red echoes the theme, emphasizing her standards with lyrics such as, "You ain’t got no money for me, b**** don’t even call my phone / A** phat nails done, and my weave super long".
Accompanying the release is a music video shot in Miami, directed by Young Chang. The video showcases Dugg and Red amidst luxury cars and jet skis on the beach, with scenes of vibrant nightlife and tasteful censoring during twerking sequences.
This new single marks a departure from Dugg’s previous release, "Win Wit Us", which arrived in May alongside a trailer featuring Hill Harper to build anticipation for his new album. That track was a hard-hitting homage to his hometown of Detroit.
Earlier this year, Dugg celebrated his career with a sold-out Welcome Home show at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, where he unified local hip-hop groups to resolve longstanding feuds. His last major project was 2022’s "Last Ones Left," a collaboration with EST Gee that debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, followed by his solo effort "Free Dem Boyz", which featured collaborations with Future, Lil Durk, and others, debuting at No. 8.
