Lightskin Bobby is gearing up for a 25-city tour this summer. The Atlanta rapper has several prominent singles in circulation including “3 Cell Phones” with Breadwinner Kane and “Shake It.” “Shake It” will appear on the upcoming Traps N Trunks mixtape series this Memorial Day Weekend (hosted by DJ Scream). Tell us about your music history. How did you get started?
My history goes all the way back to when I was 2 years old dancing and singing to every song on the radio including Bobby Brown, Michael Jackson and New Edition. I got my first taste of the stage at the age of 7 on the Showtime at Apollo television show.
Tell us about the album you have out right now. What are some of the top priority songs?
My latest studio album which is my fifth is “LSB2: Reverse Psychology” and some of the biggest songs on the album that people love include “Feed Me”, “3 Cell Phones”, “Shake It” and my latest single “Cocoa Brown.”
Prior to this album, what projects did you release?
Well prior to this album I had my debut album in 2018 self-titled “Lightskin Bobby” 2019 I put out “Worldwide” 2020. I put out “Last of a Dying Breed” and in 2021 “Worldwide 2:The Dreamteam Edition.”
You are touring this summer. Who all is on the tour?
Yes, I’m headlining the We Outside Tour Pt 4 this summer starting in July alongside with PBE Pluto, Breadwinner Kane, SauceWood Winnin, Neecy J, and Onsight Deeda - Cash Money’s very own.
Are you looking forward to any cities in particular?
I’m looking forward to Virginia Beach, VA, Columbus, Ohio, Detroit, Mi, Indianapolis, IN, Gary IN, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Twin Cities, MN, Louisville, Kentucky, and Denver, Colorado are all places I never have been. To be there to perform is going to be krazy and an amazing experience.
What have been some of your biggest shows so far?
Out of all 3 tours we’ve done so far, the dopest places I remember are Las Vegas, DC, Charlotte, NC, Houston, TX and Florida because they showed major love in all of these cities.
What are your other upcoming goals for the near future?
My other upcoming goals for the near future are shooting these next 3-5 music videos, doing more festivals to touch the fans, and a lot more investing into different businesses including real estate and buying land.
