Charisma taps Manga Saint Hilare and namesbliss for a high-octane grime set on PyroRadio This week, ascendant North West London DJ Charisma has joined forces with Roll Deep icon Manga Saint Hilare and rising Enfield wordsmith namesbliss for a must-watch grime takeover on PyroRadio, the first in a series of MC sets he’s got lined up for the coming months.
Incorporating elements of drill and deep dubstep into the mix alongside out-and-out grime instrumentals, Charisma expertly weaves in tunes from the likes of Lolingo, Jammz, Ironsoul and Sh?m underneath the two MCs as they squeeze off high-precision 16s, ultimately leading Manga to exclaim on camera: “There’s not been one dead tune in this whole set!” Known for their sharp wordplay and rapid-fire delivery, he and Bliss make for a deadly combination, and one which even the most diligent grime fans will never have seen before.
Best known for his monthly residency on Reprezent Radio which has seen him showcasing the finest in grime and UK bass music, Charisma has quickly become one of the station’s most prolific presenters, with everything from 100% vinyl sets to his blindfolded DJ challenge ‘Mix & Blind’ now available to watch back via the Reprezent YouTube channel. With an enviable track record under his belt including supporting Billie Eilish on tour and guesting on BBC Radio 1Xtra, he’s even gone on to run his own events at Pop Brixton in recent months, and has invited a whole heap of talent onto his show including long-standing producer and NTS breakfast host Scratcha DVA, hotly tipped rapper BXKS and Rinse FM resident Jack Dat.
