Melii ft. 6LACK - "You Ain't Worth It" Video | @Melii @6LACK

Less than a month ago Harlem-native singer, songwriter, and rapper MELII, shared her latest offering “You Ain’t Worth It,” an empowering “ex-anthem” that calls attention to the story of lovers at odds. Together Melii and Grammy nominated singer, 6LACK detail the lows of fickle relationships, “I let you act up, get your shit together, I let you rock, had me convinced that you ain't know no better.” The track garnered high praise by Variety, Billboard, Complex, NYLON, XXL and more as well as amassed over 3 million streams.

In the video directed by Des Gray (Lil Baby, Iann Dior, RUSS) we witness the ups-and-downs of a tumultuous relationship. Paired with the perfect collaborator, 6LACK, known for focusing his music on relationships and heartbreaks through moody and powerfully honest lyrics we observe story come to life. The nostalgic inspired visual filmed in Los Angeles kicks off with the Afro-Latina artist arguing with a loved one, as the narrative builds, we see her quickly turn over a new leaf once she finds the partner who treats her with respect. Of the making of the video Melii shares "The video was such a fun vibe. We wanted to go with old school looks and aesthetic because it went with the song the best. Working with 6LACK was amazing."

Back in October, MELII surprised fans by showing off her signature spitfire lyricism in “Way Too Soft,” accompanied by a 007 and Scarface-inspired cinematic music video that has garnered almost 830K views on YouTube. Earlier this year, she made no qualms about making it clear that no one else can do it like her on “BDE” featuring fellow New York rapper Smoove’L, receiving recognition from XXL, Hot New Hip Hop, Complex, and more.

Last year, the rising artist shared her highly anticipated EP MOTIONS which features seven-tracks that showcased her unapologetic yet vulnerable songwriting that made her one of 2019’s most exciting breakout stars. The EP featured passionate singles “TM Interlude,” “No Hard Feelings,” and “Nena,” a Latin-flavored track that landed on the Alt.Latino Playlist from NPR (who praised MELII as “a master in the art of the concise call-out”).

The EP garnered recognition from Fader, Hot New Hip Hop, Complex, and more.
