After
teaming up with conceptual artist Alex Da Corte for her playful record
"Dora," Tierra Whack doubles the serving size for her fans this week
with "feel good" and "Peppers and Onions." Whack's superior dexterity on
the mic takes precedence, as she expresses her moody nature on the
former while yearning for peace and freedom on the latter.
The Philly MC's fourth-quarter resurgence has fans salivating for a new project after her 2018 opus Whack World shook the rap landscape. Along with being featured on New Music Daily on Apple Music, Whack has received effusive praise from publications after the release of Dora. Rolling Stone credits Whack and Corte for their "charmingly weird animated video," while Stereogum applauds the witty MC for her "deeply catchy and subtly eccentric" track.
After
being lauded for her lyrical bravery and masterful vision in 2018, the
following year, Whack stormed back with five new tracks in five
consecutive weeks as part of her acclaimed “Whack History Month.” In
June 2019, her stellar wordplay abilities earned her a coveted slot as
an XXL Freshman. She also was featured on Apple's Up Next Program. Earlier this year, she covered Teen Vogue for their March 2020 issue.
