Jayla Darden Masters The Art of Love With Vulnerable Jam "Let You Go"

JAYLA DARDEN MASTERS THE ART OF LOVE WITH VULNERABLE JAM "LET YOU GO"

Jayla Darden is a vessel for lovelorn strife on the telling single, “Let You Go.” The fresh blend of honest lyrics and stellar production from Jayla reveals the ins and outs of holding on to a relationship that no longer serves the mind, body and soul. The singer-songwriter taps into simmering 808s in addition to a gentle falsetto that offers a fresh perspective on the modern R&B love tune.

Praised by the likes of NPR Music and UPROXX, there’s a firm reason Jayla is poised to be the next big voice in R&B and soul. By producing, writing and engineering her own music, the Detriot native has stepped into her own artistry while looking to legends like Aaliyah, Missy Elliott and Key Wane on her vision board. With the help of YouTube, Jayla taught herself GarageBand, ProTools in addition to the guitar and the keyboard, allowing her early entry into the renowned SAE Institute at 15 years old.

Her previous release– the sultry “Demonstration”– is a smooth blend of today’s alternative soul and a thoughtful nod to 2000s R&B.

Since 2015, Jayla has built up a SoundCloud fanbase with short releases—including her cover of Drake’s “Jaded”; which garnered 350,000 streams. She’s also found fans in the form of music startup Soulection and Grammy-winning artist H.E.R. In May, Jayla joined H.E.R. for her ‘Girls With Guitars Series’ on Instagram to sing Aaliyah’s “I Don’t Wanna.”

“Let You Go” also comes after the release of her studio debut EP Onto Something, which dropped in late 2019 with fan favorites like “Be Your Girl” and the title track, “Onto Something”.
