"The DMV area is really influenced by a lot of Go-go music, when it comes to rap music it was really prevalent among artists that started coming up like Wale, but I think now the DMV is like a melting pot, a lot of people coming from different areas. Me personally, I have a Cameroon background, so I have more of a worldly type of sound...I always try to be original and bring something different to the table every time I make a record."
