About Max B

Charly Wingate, better known by his stage name Max B (short for Max Biggaveli), is a hip-hop icon. He is best known for his mixtapes Public Domain, Coke Wave and Million Dollar Baby. He’s also recognized for coining the popular term “wavy” and his image is synonymous with nicknames such as “The Tsunami” and “The Wave.” Max made his mixtape debut in 2006. Between 2006-2009, he released 28 mixtapes. In that 3-year period, Max was able to leave his imprint on the culture. His life experiences would resonate with people who shared similar paths due to the honesty of his music. Max’s unique flow and rough, melodic vocals have directly influenced hip-hop and its culture. According to Complex, “His legacy is undeniable.” This sentiment has been echoed by artists such as Drake, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, A$AP Rocky, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, and many more. Max’s musical success came to a halt when he was sentenced to 75 years in prison. Max’s original sentencing was successfully cut down from 75 years to 20 years in September of 2016. Max is currently fighting to cut his 20-year sentencing even further, eyeing a hopeful 2021 release.

In December, his star-studded project House Money was released, featuring A Boogie wit da Hoodie, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Ferg, Dave East, Cam’ron and Jadakiss. In February, Max B  also released a compilation album titled Wave Pack which included 2 new tracks, Phenomenon and Run Homeboy Run, bundled with his remastered greatest hits. Currently, Max is preparing for the release of his new solo EP titled Charly
