DaBaby’s 'KIRK' Debuts At #1 On Billboard 200

South Coast Music Group and Interscope Records is thrilled to announce that DaBaby’s new album KIRK has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 selling 145,000 album equivalents. Released on September 27, KIRK cements the North Carolina rapper’s status as one of the brightest and most exciting stars of 2019.

In addition to dominating the Billboard 200, KIRK dominated the Apple Music chart upon release. Featuring some of the biggest names in hip-hop — including Chance the Rapper, Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, Migos, Lil Baby, and Moneybagg Yo, among others — the album has also earned widespread critical acclaim. To that end, Rolling Stone hailed DaBaby as “one of the year’s most compelling breakout stars,” while Complex noted that “KIRK will be praised for its depth, its emotional explorations, and DaBaby refining his voice.”

The follow-up to DaBaby’s recent album Baby On Baby — a Billboard 200 top ten hit featuring the double-platinum single “Suge” — KIRK includes such tracks as the poignant lead single “Intro.” With powerful production from DJ Kid, “Intro” offers a deeply personal account of how DaBaby’s father passed away just as his son’s career started to take off.

Next month, DaBaby will embark on a North American tour featuring support from Stunna 4 Vegas — a fast-rising rapper signed to DaBaby’s own label, Billion Dollar Baby. Kicking off on November 16 in Minneapolis, the ‘KIRK’ tour will wrap up on December 21 in Dallas. See below for full list of tour dates.

About DaBaby:
Born in Cleveland and raised in Charlotte, DaBaby dropped his debut mixtape NonFiction in January 2015 and amassed over 10,000 streams in the first 48 hours — despite zero promotion beyond his Instagram account. The Billion Dollar Baby CEO continued to earn buzz with mixtapes like 2015’s So Disrespectful and 2016’s God’s Work: Resurrected, then put out his independent album Blank Blank (a November 2018 release that featuring hit singles like “21” and “Walker Texas Ranger”). After signing to Interscope through a joint venture with South Coast Music Group, DaBaby made his label debut in March 2019 with the massively successful Baby on Baby. Along with climbing to #8 on the Billboard 200, Baby on Baby delivered smash singles like “Suge”—a double-platinum track that’s racked up over 216 million streams on Spotify in addition to hitting the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100.
