Jimmy DaSaint Plans To Bring Hollywood Back To Philly | @JimmyDaSaint1

Local hiphop mogul Jimmy Dasaint has been on a serious roll the last few years. In 2018 Jimmy wrote, directed and released his debut urban film, The Trap, featuring an all Philly cast and soundtrack. The film was recently purchased by the Zingo tv streaming network. Jimmy and his staff has also wrapped up the 8th annual Philly hiphop awards, but theres lots more! Last year, Jimmy and his Ruffsaints Entertainment group was responsible for the entire soundtrack of the new Keke  Palmer film PIMP, executive produced by Lee Daniels. Ruffsaints is currently working on a few major movie projects to be released in 2020. In addition to working on movies and music for his artist Rulla, Jimmy has released over 30 novels and is expected to drop two more this summer through his Dasaint Entertainment publishing company.  Recently HHOD sat down with this talented entrepreneur and had a one on one. Check out this exclusive interview below. 

WHAT PART OF PHILLY ARE YOU FROM?

Every part, I rep my whole city. I want to help every part of Philly win.

WHO IS RUFFSAINTS ENTERTAINMENT?

Thats my new music and film group. Its four of us, myself, Vance Debose,  khan Jamall and Grammy award winning producer carvin Haggins. We are all from Philly and our plan is to set a new standard of moviemaking and music in the city.

WHAT PROJECTS ARE RUFFSAINTS CURRENTLY WORKING ON?

We are working on a few major movie projects with our scriptwriting team and a reality series with the Real Rick Ross. 

HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED WITH THE PIMP MOVIE SOUNDTRACK?

A friend from L.A reached out to me about bringing original music to the film. So me and my team gave them a entire Philly soundtrack and they loved every song. I wrote and produced a song on the soundtrack called LEFT or RIGHT performed by Philly artist Deja B.

ITS OBVIOUS YOU LOVE PHILLY WHATS YOUR OVERALL PLAN FOR THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE?

My plan is to one day bring big Hollywood films and music projects to the city. We have so much talent thats not being seen or heard and Ruffsaints goal is to discover and show the world that Philly is the most talented music and film city in the world. My partners Vance, Carvin and Khan are serious guys in the music and film industry. True professionals that get the job done.

ANY NEW BOOKS COMING? 

Yes, i have two new novels coming very soon. SOSA and another book called LEGEND will both hit stores this year. Also, my top book BLACK SCARFACE movie script was just written and its currently being developed for film and tv.

I just want to stay focused and continue to work with my Ruffsaints Entertainment team.
