Walter Brown’s New Album Perfect for the Summer

Walter Brown creates the perfect soundtrack for your summer with his new album—Saturdaze. The LP will be released on June 24 by the Free Thinkers Union music group.
What started off as a mixtape, is now a fifteen-track hip-hop album that co-exists with R & B, Dance Hall, Trap, and Techno music. And, while fans may remember the dark sounds of Walter’s debut album, Concrete Rose (Oct. 2016),Saturdaze will not be the same.
Together Walter and FTU will introduce a new vibrant sound to the indie music scene. “I wanted this album to showcase my creative abilities,” Walter said. “At the same time, I’ve used this as way to pay homage to Charleston, and its deep heritage.”
To accompany the album, Walter will release a short documentary titled Days B4 Saturdaze filmed/directed by Your World on Film.  Fans will go behind the scenes to witness the production of his sophomore album. Director, Trenise Elmore, also captures footage of Walter’s private listening party. Earlier this month, over twenty people joined Do Work Media for an exclusive listen of the project. Some of the fan favorites are projected to be “Shine” and “Saturdaze.”
The track list includes:
1.      New Charleston
2.      #Blessed
3.      Shine
4.      Always Working (Interlude)
5.      Too Much To Ask
6.      Gang Gang
7.      Too Cold
8.      Geechee Talk (Interlude)
9.      2Rad
10.   Playing no Games
11.   I'm Done (Interlude)
12.   Don't
13.   Take
14.   You Got It
15.   Granny Talk (Interlude)

“It’s hard to pick a favorite song,” added producer/engineer Matt Tuton. “[Saturdaze] offers a lot of different textures and ideas from a songwriter and producer stand point.”

About Walter Brown:
has seen his fair share of trials and tribulations. However, his artistry has been inspired and empowered by what this Mt. Pleasant, SC native calls “rock bottom.”  He dropped out of high school in the 11th grade, and later served a five year prison sentence—a story he shared on his debut album.

Concrete Rose, released in 2016, invited hip-hop listeners to travel with Walter on a dark journey throughout the Edmund Jenkins Projects in Mt. Pleasant, to the concrete cells of prison. The stories of Concrete Rose have been told at the Charleston Music Hall, The Purple Buffalo, and to readers of the Charleston City Paper.

And while he secures his place within the hip-hop culture, he continues to celebrate his freedom, growth, and transformation.

His forthcoming album, Saturdaze, is a story of triumph, good vibe, positivity, and appreciation to his fan base. Saturdaze will be released on June 24 in partnership with the Free Thinkers Union (FTU).
