London rapper IYKZ (formerly Ikes) is back with brand-new single “Kilo”, featuring production from BZGD and mixing from Superdertie (A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller, Lily Allen).

The track features prominent sirens and high-energy beats that provide the perfect backdrop for IYKZ’ ferocious rapping. Speaking on the self-penned track, IYKZ says, “’Kilo’ for me is the ultimate underdog anthem. It represents winning when the odds are stacked against you and striving for the top but never forgetting where you came from. I wanted to use the aggressive and gritty energy of the track’s production to deliver a positive message that I think listeners will be able to relate to.”

The unsigned rapper is releasing “Kilo” independently and aiming to continue the great levels of success achieved in the last few years. In 2010 he received rave reviews when he performed a "Warm Up Session" as part of the long-running freestyle rap series hosted by popular UK media platform SBTV. Company founder and entrepreneur Jamal Edwards MBE later selected a clip of the performance to be featured in their Google Chrome advertising campaign, which was aired on TV in 2012.

“Kilo” follows IKYZ’ previous single “Clarity” (featuring British songstress Hayley Cassidy), which was playlisted as a BBC Introducing track (the third time in his career receiving this accolade) and supported by renowned UK Radio 1/1Xtra DJs Charlie Sloth and DJ Target. “Kilo” is the first release in a series of new singles and videos to be unveiled in the months to come that will ensure IYKZ remains a force to be reckoned with in the UK urban music scene.
