What’s your favorite non-rap album of all time and why?
Michaal Jackson - Thriller. It was pretty much the first ever music I remember falling in love with. I was a Michael Jackson fan as a baby. I probably couldnt even read but I knew what video cassette tape had the MoTown anniversary show where Michael did Billie Jean and killed the moonwalk.
Describe Queens to someone who’s never been there.
Queens is diverse in spots. Segregated to a certain extent. Some areas are extremely diverse. Others, filled with pockets and spaces of culture in certain neighborhoods. In most parts it’s latin or west indian. It's sort of losing it more and more due to gentrification. Very expensive. Very cultured.
What’s O.I.S.D. about? What’s the philosophy and who’s involved?
O.I.S.D. (Operation Industry Shut Down) is about destroying the mold. Either creating your own mold or having no mold at all. What I champion about OISD is being versatile, formless but still having our own formula. It involves me and my 4 other high school friends. We were friends/acquaintances during high school and sort of parted ways after graduation. After high school is when I started rapping started posting my music on myspace and we reunited through music on that platform and started making music together.
What would it take for you to sign a record deal?
RECORD DEAL BAD NO NEVER lol just joking. I would look for something where I can learn and grow in the business. And learn how to be better, self sustaining without a deal. I never had a deal so everything I think I know about having one is second hand at best. For the most part it would all be a learning experience. My only fear is a 360 deal and that I would be partially owned for a long period of time.
Who do you think is going to win the presidency? What’s your take on that?
I think Trump is going to win. I don't know how. I don't want him to. I don't anyone who ran. Bernie sounded great but he's just like Obama. A lot of great progressive ideas but all got blocked by congress. It's politics. It's a game that their playing. The older I get, the more I try to pay attention, the less I feel a part of the process. As if I could either ignore this whole thing or vote 20 times and hang up posters and campaign for somebody = my raindrop in the ocean.
