Mister Freedom, have dropped the video for their track, "Kevin Ware." Watch here via Egotripland. The trippy visuals boast a Star Wars themed stop motion saga which plays out to the soundtrack of Mister Freedom’s genre-bending track. Pairing a favorite pastime with a pop culture icon, Neon Brown says the video, “creates a reality we are familiar with, as well as nostalgia for some. Plus it’s always fun to watch C3PO smoke weed with Yoda.”

“Kevin Ware” marks the first visuals from the Mister Freedom duo. “I wanted to capture the essence of my childhood in the video,” says Neon Brown, “Since the title of the song and the song itself are so dark, I wanted to kind of liven up the video but still keep it in the mysterious realm that the album has settled in.” The ‘dark title’ references the infamous injury of NBA player Kevin Ware. Brown explains, “the title basically defines the bullshit that takes place in an individual's life on a daily basis. Anything that stays your progress.”

Denver-based rapper/producer duo Mister Freedom, aka Neon Brown and FL, announce the release of the video for their single “Kevin Ware.” The trippy visuals boast a Star Wars themed stop motion saga which plays out to the soundtrack of Mister Freedom’s genre-bending track. Pairing a favorite pastime with a pop culture icon, Neon Brown says the video, “creates a reality we are familiar with, as well as nostalgia for some. Plus it’s always fun to watch C3PO smoke weed with Yoda.”

While Mister Freedom is new on the scene, Neon Brown and FL have been in the hip hop world for years. Brown has built his reputation as a producer, working with artists, such as Truck North of The Legendary Roots Crew, Zion I and Homeboy Sandman - but now it’s time for his music to come to the forefront. “I’d like to make a name for myself in 2016 and believe I’m in a good place to make it happen.” Joining forces with FL, who’s collaborated with artists like Talib Kweli and Raekwon, the duo released their debut project titled Mister Freedom. The album features a handful of talented artists including Fast4ward, CRL CRRLL, and Vast Aire of Cannibal Ox.

“The album is a montage album,” Brown says of their first release, “ I wanted people to look at the album as a whole rather than singles.” It’s this approach that led to the project being released for sale in all mediums, including vinyl. Mister Freedom’s old school energy goes beyond an appreciation for the classic playback methods, like vinyl and cassettes - it’s evident in their influences on every track. FL pulls inspiration from fellow rapper Raekwon while Brown says, “I relate more with 90’s rap - A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, Slum Village. All the classics.”
