Taking place Sunday August 30th in the Highbridge section of the Bronx, home to hip hop recording artist Hop Cashay and his 682 Varsity Entertainment imprint, Hop Cashay Day is a community oriented initiation that produces school supply give away and a day of festivities, positive entertainment for neighborhood youth. Hip Hop on deck caught up with the face of the initiative and got his thoughts on what the day stands for and what they have been able to accomplish. Check out our exclusive sit down with Hop Cashay.
Hip Hop On Deck: What made you start Hop Cashay day ?
Hop Cashay: Me and my business partners were raised in this community (Highbridge / Westside). We all felt like nobody ever came back to give-back and show the kids
that there's people that are from this hood that actually care. W want to genuinely help some and rid the neighborhood of the negativity. Our goal is to be a good example of how you build from the bottom up and support those who support you. Hopefully other artists and tastemakers see what we're doing and start doing the same independently.
Hip Hop On Deck: Talk to us about the pride in taking care of your neighborhood that you feel around this time every year ?
Hop Cashay: We just want to help the parents in our community ease the kids back in to the school year. If we can supply some book-bags fully loaded for the year
that will help the parent save money and we feel good.
Hip Hop On Deck: Who are some of the other ppl who pitch in to make this day a success?

Hop Cashay: @vlady_nyc owns Truco barbershop in the neighborhood. @DJInstynctz and @Streetkhemistry hold us down with the music. My label partners Martial Wal, Glory Ave Entertainment . We gotta thank our families, our wives. We all come together and make this happen. We bootstrap it and use our resources.
Hip Hop On Deck: You received an award from the All Star Music Awards for your philanthropy talk to us about that ?
Hop Cashay: Means the world to me and my partners at 682 Varsity Entertainment. For us it's just the beginning; more to come.
Hip Hop On Deck: What's the feedback and response you have gotten in your neighborhood ?
Hop Cashay: They love it ! Kids always run up to us asking when is the next one, and parents cannot stop talking about it.
Hip Hop On Deck: Is there anywhere people have to RSVP or get tickets?
Hop Cashay: They can just come out, it's free. WE try to make sure nearly everyone leaves with something. We give the bookbags out at the end, raffles every hour come out and enjoy the music and the love.

Hop Cashay: been shooting video got a few out now and a few coming soon got a new project dropping sept liquor stores and churches that joint go be fire
