Action Bronson announces Las Vegas show
Award-winning rapper Action Bronson has had a hectic couple of years since his self-titled debut album in 2013. After a seemingly endless flurry of hyperbole followed the rapper around, Bronson eventually broke into the mainstream with his 2013 debut release.
Fast-forward to the present day, and Bronson is about to embark on his biggest world tour to date. First he will tour North America where he will play shows in Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Austin and several other major cities along the way. After that he will make his way across Europe playing a slew of UK dates as well as festival appearances at Bestival and Rockefeller.
However, the show that seems to be commanding the most column inches is his upcoming show at the House of Blues in Las Vegas on May 25. The legendary music venue is part of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The House of Blues has played host to some of the biggest names in the music industry and has become a haven for contemporary artists as well as established names. Currently aside from Bronson’s upcoming show, the venue is playing host to a Carlos Santana residency that sees the Latino music legend play 80 shows a year at the House of Blues.
And although Bronson isn’t at the level yet of commanding such a high profile residencies at some of Las Vegas’s most revered music venues, the brand have secured him to play at some of their other venues across the country. The Queens-born rapper will also perform at House of Blues venues in Houston and Dallas during his North American leg of the tour. Arguably, these are two of the biggest shows that Bronson will play on this tour in support of his 2015 album release ‘Mr Wonderful’ that he released via Vice Records.
Part of the reason why Bronson sees himself playing three shows at the House of Blues is the due to the establishment’s desire to strengthen their music arm of the business. As aforementioned, the House of Blues is owned by Mandalay Bay and the last 10 years have been anything but plain sailing for the casino industry with huge drops in profits mainly due to the popularity of online gaming. When the world welcomed InterCasino to the World Wide Web in 1996 as the first real-time playable casino portal, the physical casino industry took huge hits in revenues. The only way for them to get back on their feet was to come up with strategies to counter such losses. For the Mandalay Bay, that answer came in the form of their entertainment arm, the House of Blues.
