The Ground-Breaking Music & Film Festival Will Return to
New York City for Five Days of Events from October 8th -- October 12th,
2014
NEW YORK, Aug. 6, 2014 /-- CBGB, the legendary New York venue and music icon, announces its 3rd Annual CBGB Music and Film Festival which will take place from Wednesday, October 8th through Sunday, October 12th. The annual festival presents new music, films, industry talks and special events all across New York City.
The five-day annual event will take place in theaters, clubs,
galleries, private spaces, roof tops & hotels throughout Manhattan
and Brooklyn; from Williamsburg to Times Square. Center 548, the 35,000
sq. ft. converted warehouse, located on East 22nd street,
will serve as the central hub for the entire festival which will include
the CBGB Icon Awards, music themed art exhibitions, concerts, comedy
performances and much more.
"We continue to support emerging and established talent who represent
music & film in all their forms. For us, music transcends space and
sharing it with fans in a unique form is something we are very
passionate about," said Tim Hayes, CBGB Co-Owner.
True to the Club's roots, the CBGB Music Festival will feature
emerging and established artists covering a variety of genres. As in
the past, the festival will partner with numerous venues presenting live
performances throughout New York City including showcases at Center
548. Last year's festival included performances from My Morning Jacket,
James Murphy, Puss N Boots feat. Norah Jones, The Wallflowers, Ice-T
and Divine Fits.
The CBGB Film Festival, one of the largest in the country and the
only to feature music-focused films, will showcase a myriad of cinema
including scripted narratives, documentaries, concert films, shorts and
other cutting edge stories. Last year, CBGB premiered over 50
music-based movies including the New York premiere of the Academy Award
Winning Film, 20 Feet from Stardom.
