1. Your debut single "Stupid Love" received praise from DJ Target on BBC 1Xtra. How did that support impact your career and confidence as an emerging artist?
A.) Personally i’ve been a fan and listened to target on the radio for so long and to have his support is a blessing, big up target!
2. "Real Life" blends rap and indie pop in a unique way. Can you tell us about your creative process when developing this sound?
A.) It’s been countless hours in the studio and really a combination of the music i listen to, i love rap and wave music but also indie and pop music which i guess just blend together when im writing.
3. Collaborating with artists like Chip, Imanbek, Sigala, and Nafe Smallz must have been incredible. How have these experiences influenced your growth as an artist?
A.) To be able to work with artists i’ve looked up to for so long like chip and nafe and have them show so much support is a dream come true, every song i make with these guys feels like growth.
4. You mentioned that "Real Life" explores themes of young love and heartbreak. What inspired you to delve into these emotions for this particular track?
A.) In my 21 years alive I’ve definitely had enough love stories and heart breaks to write about, on real life in particular i was expressing my difficulties in not being able to relate to anyone as im finding my way in life and in music.
5. You're set to perform at All Points East festival soon. How do you prepare for live performances, and what can fans expect from your show?
A.) Live shows are my favourite thing to do, leading up to a show i’ll always watch some of my favourite performances on the internet whether that be glastonbury or most recently i’ve been watching Loyle Carners show at the royal albert hall, my show is real music, good vibes with some high energy and some chill tracks. Expect to hear some of my upcoming EP and a couple of covers.
6. Being both an artist and a producer/engineer, how do you balance these roles? Do you find one aspect of your work more fulfilling than the other?
A.) They all play hand in hand to be fair, i’ve always preferred being an artist but i’m able to do it all together, i’ll make a beat for myself, record myself and then engineer my own vocals.
7. Your collaboration with 169 and Zakhar resulted in multiple songs in one session. What was it like working with them, and how did the chemistry between you contribute to the creative process?
A.) It was just a vibe, we got in the room all on the same wave and we got to work.
8. Looking forward, what are your goals for the future of your music career? Any upcoming projects or collaborations you can share with us?
A.) My biggest goal has always been to headline glastonbury. In the short term i got loads coming, a tune with GeeYou and another crazy artist, a record with chip and my tape coming soon.
9. You've been described as a rising star in the industry. How do you navigate the pressures and expectations that come with this title?
A.) My team and my family are so good at keeping the noise out so really i just keep my head down and stay focussed on the music.
10. Lastly, if you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
A.) Post Malone.
