AKB, affectionaly known as 'The Indian Dentist Rapper' just hit with a seriously reflective new joint called "When I'm Home" and I confess to having it on repeat. In a full-on appreciation song for his current state of personal and professional elevation and security, "When I'm Home" is a celebration of accomplishment manifested through one of the key concerns of our modern day. A home and business owner, AKB makes music because he loves it, and is one of his refuges from the standard fare of 9-5 and pre-packaged living in general. Simply put, this is a feel-good song and if you know, you know...!
From Ahmedabad, India to the sunny shores of California, AKB's journey has been extraordinary. At just 10 years old, he found himself immersed in the vibrant culture of the Golden State, where he spent his formative years until the age of 18. But his roots beckoned him back to India, where he dedicated five years to pursuing and achieving a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
However, the allure of California proved too strong to resist, and AKB found himself back in the United States. This time, he delved into academia again, culminating in his graduation from the Advanced Program in San Francisco in 2017 with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS). It was here that his journey into the world of pediatric dentistry began, marking the start of a phase where he finally began to reap the rewards of his hard work.
But life had more in store for AKB than just dentistry. After taking care of some of life's essentials like marriage, settling down, and acquiring a home, car, and recording equipment for his burgeoning passion for music, AKB's life took an exciting turn.
His love for Hip Hop, cultivated during his California years, never waned. Despite facing challenges of confidence and financial constraints in pursuing a musical career initially, AKB eventually found his way back to his passion. Now known as "The Indian Dentist Rapper," he has carved out a unique space in the industry, amassing a significant following along the way.
Breaking stereotypes, AKB proves that medical professionals can indeed bring the fun factor. With his blend of dentistry and music, he's not just filling cavities; he's filling hearts with joy and inspiration.
I think the backstory adds incredible weight to this song and since he began his 36-month challenge, i.e., one song and video per month for 36 months, we're sure to get even more considered compositions from this polymath and it's going to be mad fun!!!
