Inspiring Change: A Few Days Of Happiness Making a Difference in the Community

Creating Change Through Compassion:
"An Interview with Founder of A Few Days Of Happiness"

1. What inspired you to start A Few Days Of Happiness?
A. A Few Days Of Happiness was inspired by the homelessness happening in the city of Philadelphia. Seeing children with dirty clothing and no shoes brought such a hurt to my heart. Coming to certain areas and being consistent for their well being is all I wanted to do. To show love on purpose with food, blankets & clothing.

2. What has been the most rewarding experience for you since you started the organization?
A. The most rewarding experience so far with starting Elevan11 would most definitely be speaking to the youth who have received our 11 step grief journey program appreciated it and would share with others word of mouth allowing them each to understand the importance of turning their pain into passion after tragic loss.

3. What are some of the most impactful events you have organized or participated in?
A. Our Elevan11 annual picnic is our appreciation giveback to our families who have gone through tragic moments. A day to bring the family out to eat, dance and have fun with the other warriors is a great thing too see.

4. What would you say to someone who is considering volunteering with A Few Days Of Happiness?
A. It is a gift that each of us have to be able to give back to others in need. Our volunteer team grows quickly after each event because of the emotions inside that make people aware of how many kids and adults in this world are living without a parent or both. Being that advocate for 1 person at least can make a huge difference in this world.

5. What do you believe are the benefits of volunteering with your organization?
A. You become wiser in understanding the needs and the effects is has volunteering and being a helping hand to a child who has lost a mom or dad. Children will always need positive role models in their life and it does not have to be blood family. It can be any of us. The time you give to a child helping them be happy and enjoy living life with mindfulness activities and sports etc means more to them then you will ever know.

6. What advice would you give to someone who wants to make a difference in their community?
A. DO IT , and watch how many amazing souls come out the woodwork's with the same mission you have. This world is filled with caring people , when your mission is spoken out into the Universe the right people will hear you and want to work with you on making the world a better place one day at a time.
