Encouraging complete cultural immersion, the first-ever 2023 Head In The Clouds New York Music & Arts Festival will feature a carefully curated food and beverage lineup just revealed today. On Saturday May 20 and Sunday May 21, 2023, the festival will transform Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York City into a beacon of Asian-centric music, art, and cuisine. 12 diverse vendors populate the concourse, with an emphasis on supporting small and family-owned businesses. Speaking to the city’s rich Asian diaspora, the all-Asian vendors include local favorites Rokstar Chicken and Xing Fu Tang in addition to Vietnamese eatery 5ive Spice, pan-Asian barbecue Meat Asia, the Baba Nyonya Malaysian cafe Kopitiam, Japanese-Korean Domakase renowned for its rice bowls, a collaboration between Southeast Asian restaurants Obao and Gai Chicken & Rice, Filipino street food options from Patok by Rach, NYC’s only fresh sugarcane juice vendor Sugarcane Daddy, dessert artisan Kitsby, Hong Kong style milk tea brand Silk. (which will mark the first time they cross borders into the U.S.) and OJBK Tea Shop known for its classic Taiwanese teas. 88rising’s inaugural Head in the Clouds New York festival partners include Honda, presenting the "Honda Double Happiness Stage", Johnnie Walker Blended Scotch Whisky serving 21+ festival goers signature festival-inspired cocktails, McDonald’s, Spotify, Microsoft, Bose, Path Water and JetBlue. The festival will also feature an exclusive sneak peek at Disney+ Original "American Born Chinese".
Head In The Clouds New York Music & Arts Festival is produced by 88rising, the pioneering and internationally-renowned music and media company amplifying Asian talent and culture, Goldenvoice, the Los Angeles-based company behind concert events like Coachella and Stagecoach, and The Bowery Presents, the leading East Coast concert promoter, have announced the first-ever 2023 Head In The Clouds NYC Festival. This marks the first time the Head In The Clouds festival has branched out to a new market in North America following a successful run in Los Angeles [2018-2019, 2021-2022] and 2022 festivals in Jakarta and Manila. It also represents a homecoming for 88rising, which was founded in New York City back in 2015. The hallowed ground of Forest Hills Stadium also celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
This year, Head In The Clouds New York Music & Arts Festival will be partnering with non-profit organization Heart of Dinner, an organization directly addressing food insecurity and isolation experienced by Asian American seniors—two long-standing community issues heightened by the pandemic. The festival will be donating $1 per ticket to Heart of Dinner. More information below.
