Following the release of their euphoric single and video, "STAY AWAKE", which received acclaim from the likes of Notion, Enigma, Jamsphere, and more, emerging R&B/Hip Hop duo YSO X AAKASH unveil their ethereal new track, "QUIT CALLING", accompanied by a cinematic music video set in Chicago.
Drawing influence from contemporaries such as Drake, Bryson Tiller, and Brent Faiyaz, YSO X AAKASH humbly set out to create and share their own take on modern-day R&B/Hip Hop. Returning with their hypnotically melancholic track, "QUIT CALLING", their new release explores themes of detachment and letting go. Seamlessly blending lush synth soundscapes and sweeping vocals, the shimmering single further demonstrates the duo’s ability to craft immersive R&B anthems.
On the inspiration behind the single, YSO and AAKASH explain, “'Quit Calling' captures the feeling of needing to distance yourself from someone even though you still care for them.”
Formed in October 2021, YSO X AAKASH comprises singer YSO and producer/lyricist AAKASH. Having an extensive background in classical violin has influenced YSO’s ability to create unique melodies, while AAKASH’s background in hip-hop dance choreography has helped shape his production style. Following the success of singles "STAY AWAKE", "NEED", and "INTROVERT", the duo returns with their captivating new release, "QUIT CALLING".
