Meet the "Young Shiner" from Louisville
Last week rising Louisville rapper released collaborations with Grammy nominated artists Lil Baby and Jack Harlow. Lil Baby triumphantly returned with his first release of 2021, “Real As It Gets.” The ferocious track showcases Lil Baby in his element, crafting hard hitting bars that pull from his own life before music. With a distinct ear for features and rising talent, Baby tapped the up and coming Louisville rapper for a guest spot, who holds his own with an impassioned verse of his own. The track garnered recognition from Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Pitchfork, Vulture and more. Last year Gee joined fellow Louisville native, Jack Harlow on his track “Route 66” which was featured on Jack’s latest album, That’s What They All Say. The duo performed the track on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and last week shared the video which now amassed nearly 2 million views.
But who is the Louisville raised artist?
EST Gee is CMG Records latest signee (42 Dugg, Moneybagg Yo, Blac Youngsta, etc.). Late last year, he released his project, I Still Don’t Feel Nun, that includes collaborations with CMG CEO, Yo Gotti as well as MoneyBagg Yo, Jack Harlow, Kevin Gates and 42 Dugg, among many others. On the 16-track body of work, Gee showcased his natural rapping ability and quickly asserted himself as a viciously versatile force. The release led to him garnering acclaim from the likes of ABC News Radio, HotNewHipHop, HipHop DX and Okayplayer, among others, as well as support across all digital streaming partners and co-signs from the likes of Quavo, Mulatto, Meek Mill, and more. A few months into the release of I Still Don’t Feel Nun, we’re quickly witnessing that in many ways, the acronym EST hints at his future in Louisville and beyond.
