R&B Boy Next Door Arin Ray Goes Rogue In New Music Video
“The Get Down” is the third single from the Cincinnati native’s surprise EP, Phases II, which dropped in mid-December. The alluring, five-song teaser was immediately well received by both fans and critics alike. Essence magazine confirmed Ray is a “rising star,” while Hip-Hop Weekly hailed the project “a seamless continuation of the 24-year-old crooner’s audacious chronicle from boy to man.”
The EP includes Ray’s biggest song to date, “Change” featuring Bay Area vocalist, Kehlani. The music video has already reached four million views on YouTube since it premiered last summer. The single “A Seat,” which has been rotating heavily on SiriusXM Radio and Pandora, is also featured on the set. The video has amassed over a million views since being released in October.
The R&B boy next door closed out the decade on a high note opening for Ari Lennox on the European Leg of her Shea Butter Baby Tour. The international excursion kicked off December 2nd in Oslo, Norway, followed by dates in Sweden, Germany and Belgium and three, back-to-back, sold-out shows in London.
