DABABY’S ‘BABY ON BABY’ HITS #8 ON BILLBOARD 200

GOLD-CERTIFIED SINGLE “SUGE” REACHES #16 ON BILLBOARD HOT 100

Breakout rapper DaBaby made his top ten debut on the Billboard 200 last week. The North Carolina-based artist’s new project Baby on Baby reached #8 on the chart for the week ending May 16, with nearly 28,000 equivalent album units sold (up 9% from the previous week).

Released on March 1, Baby on Baby entered the Billboard 200 at No. 25 on March 16, holding tight in the top 40 ever since. The album’s outstanding chart performance is mainly due to the unstoppable streaming activity of singles like “Suge”—a track that’s amassed over 40 million streams on Spotify and recently received gold certification from the RIAA.

Now in its second week on Spotify’s Today’s Top Hits (followed by over 23.2 million people globally), “Suge” also landed on Apple Music’s Today’s Hits (the platform’s second-largest U.S. playlist). In addition, “Suge” shot to #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending May 25. The track has now spent seven weeks on the chart, where it entered at #87 on April 13.

Overall, Baby on Baby currently boasts three songs on Spotify’s Rap Caviar (widely considered one of the most influential streaming playlists in music today), as well as two songs each on The A-List: Hip-Hop (Apple Music’s largest U.S. playlist) and It's Lit!!! (Apple Music’s sixth-largest playlist).
Baby on Baby marks DaBaby’s debut release for Interscope Records. Earlier this year, the 27-year-old rapper signed to Interscope through a joint venture with South Coast Music Group.
