Shy FX ft. Sweetie Irie & Cara Delevingne - "Rudeboy Lovesong" Video | @ShyFX

Legend, soundman, DJ and all-round UK pioneer Shy FX has released the music video for brand new single Rudeboy Lovesong ft. Sweetie Irie and Cara Delevingne.

“It’s been incredible collaborating with Sweetie and Cara on this record. The goal was to create something unpredictable and non obvious which is a persistent theme on the SoundTape. Doing a video with a dystopian feel also fits that theme and was something I’ve wanted to do for a while. Big up Felix Brady the director who really delivered for us." – Shy FX

Debuted on Radio 1Xtra last night by DJ Target, Rudeboy Lovesong is lifted from Shy’s forthcoming long player project, Raggamuffin SoundTape, due for release on 15th March and available to pre-order now. It follows Shy’s Roll The Dice featuring Stamina MC and Lily Allen, which has been receiving heavy rotation on Radio 1 since its release in November last year.

the first long player Shy FX has made that he feels truly represents him as an artist:

“Everything fits together – its tight, it feels like one piece. The 15-year-old me would be overly gassed by this record - I wouldn’t have been able to imagine making all these genres, all these styles… And now I’m able to put it under the same name and it makes sense to people.” – Shy FX

To celebrate the release of Raggamuffin Soundtape, Shy FX will be hosting a one off cul.ture night at Night Tales (London) on 15th March. Tickets will be available to purchase from Friday 1st March fromhttps://dice.fm/artist/shy-fx  with presales available from Wednesday 27th February.

ABOUT SHY FX

A child of original UK reggae, a student of soundsystem culture, and a warrior of innovation on the frontline of jungle, DJ and producer Shy FX has played a leading role in shaping the landscape of British urban music and global dance music.

Grandson of pioneering Jamaican soundsystem DJ Count Shelly, Shy FX made his name in the 90s as a trailblazer of ragga-jungle with the release of seminal anthem Original Nuttah (feat. UK Apachi) which became one of the first ever jungle tracks to enter the UK top 40 at a time when the UK charts were more a place for Brit Pop and Girl bands. He helped fashion a scene that thrived on technical innovation, taking risks, and breaking down boundaries.

In the years that followed Shy FX dropped a plethora of diverse top 40 club bangers, (including the samba-flavoured top 10 chart hit, Shake Ur Body with T Power); won Red Bull Culture Clash; played his own part in the roots reggae revival with Soon Come; and founded his independently run Digital Soundboy record label, which, after the release of his second album with T-Power, (Diary of a Digital Soundboy), grew to encompass electro, U.K. funky house, Grime, D&B and dubstep, releasing tracks by dozens of artists including Skream, Benga, Breakage, and Redlight. All in addition to remixing the likes of London Grammar, Rag’n’Bone Man, Jorja Smith and Protoje.

A true stalwart, Shy continues to maintain his legendary status, whilst staying true to his art form and staying consistently relevant. He has worked with everyone from Dizzee RascalWiley, Ms. Dynamite and Kano through to Emeli Sandé, Plan B and Idris Elba.
