Ras Slick Rocks Summer Stages

To describe this summer as sizzling for Reggae singer Ras Slick would be an understatement. In fact, this summer has proven to be one of his most successful ever. With his “Penultimate Tour” in full swing, the uber-talented entertainer has mastered the art of live performance, touching down on noteworthy stages in new venues and markets. Much to Ras Slick’s credit, he has performed before thousands of fans this season.

August was explosive for Ras Slick and his coveted band Dutty Bus Crew to say the least, as they graced the stage of the first ever “DC World Reggae Music Festival” with the likes of Shabba Ranks, Toots and the Maytals, Chronixx, Raging Fyah, Rupee, Jah Works and KES. The kinetic singer was a burst of top notch notes, moves and energy, wowing concert goers with an hour-long set. Ras Slick’s impressive performance left an indelible mark on the audience and set high standards for the acts to follow. Subsequent attention from media, music industry professionals and fans alike has further solidified the demand for Ras Slick on the performance circuit.

"I truly enjoy live performances," says Ras Slick. "Each time I touch the stage, a spiritual energy and vibe overcomes not just me but the audience as well."

Just when you thought August couldn’t get hotter, Ras Slick and Dutty Bus Crew scored a performance at Maryland’s newest concert hall, The Soundry. Once again sharing the stage with the powerful Reggae band Jah Works, Ras Slick and Dutty Bus Crew served as an ideal prelude to an unprecedented night of soulful Reggae. It’s clear now than ever before that Ras Slick has no challenges wining over diverse audiences.
 
Ras Slick says that when performing live a spiritual energy overcomes both the audience and him.

"I personally believe that one of the things working in my favor during my recent performances is my transition from cover music to predominately original songs," the crooner says proudly. "Often my new tunes dem spark an unbreakable connection with audiences."

July saw Ras Slick take his show on the road to Nashville, Tennessee for the first time. As anticipated, the passionate crooner did not disappoint. Overflowing adulation from the crowd at the event billed “Best of the Best,” was a true indicator of the entertainer’s knack for tearing down stages. Meanwhile, the 2-day Caribbean Wine Festival at Linganore vineyards attracted several thousand patrons. By popular demand, Ras Slick returned to the celebrated festival stage, delivering unforgettable sets of a well-rounded balance of original music and ingenuously remixed covers. Unafraid to tackle many genres of music, Ras Slick sparks the music lover in all who experience his shows.

In tandem with sizzling on the performance circuit, Ras Slick finds success with new music releases like "Late Night," "Krazy Glue," "Concentrate" and "Cannabis Specialist." The seminal "No Shackles and Chains" continues to be a signature song for the performer, invoking emotions of all who hear it because of its powerful and relevant message. Ras Slick's got his eyes on the prize with several exciting fall and winter shows in the works.
