for the 40th Season of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn
Brought to you by BRIC, the leading presenter of free cultural programming in Brooklyn, and one of the largest in New York City. This year they celebrate their 40th season of the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn Festival, with over 30 performances (June 5 - August 11), BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! On Saturday August 4th Tarrus Riley will be apart of the celebration to cap off the four decades for the pioneering NYC arts-and -media free cultural programming. Along with Tarrus Riley will be the Blak Soil Band and the legendary saxophonist, Dean Fraser.
"Looking forward to this performance, it means a lot to me. I have not performed in Brooklyn for some years now but Brooklyn always holds a special part in my heart as its truly a melting pot of cultures coming together. I want everyone to come out tell a friend, a family member its will be a guaranteed nice time" says Tarrus Riley.
Tarrus Riley is back from his 6 week European tour, where he headlined some of the major festivals and is currently working on upcoming album. With recent releases with pop stars such as, Ellie Goulding and Estelle, Tarrus Riley has garnered a wide fan base, while solidifying his musical artform across many genres.
On Saturday showtime starts at 7:30 pm inside the Prospect Park Bandshell, admission FREE. Also on the show line up is Mwenso & the Shakes hailing from Sierra Leone, London, South Africa, Greenwich Village, Madagascar, France, Jamaica, and Hawaii currently residing in Harlem New York.
