Written entirely by Melii and produced by Chris Fresh (a member of 808 Mafia), “Shit Talk” is an instantly addictive track driven by Melii’s unstoppable flow, lyrical prowess, and rapid-fire bilingual rapping. Directed by Kid. Studio (The Weeknd, Majid Jordan), the sleek but playful video for “Sh*t Talk” perfectly showcases her larger-than-life presence and magnetic appeal.
“Sh*t Talk” follows Melii’s recent release “Icey (Spanish Remix),” an all-Spanish rendition of her early-2018 hit that The New York Times hailed as “one of the year’s starkest rap hits, with a low, guttural beat stomping underneath Melii’s corner-talk boasts.”
“Sh*t Talk” is the latest single from Melii’s upcoming debut project Phases, due out later this year. The narrative-focused project will explore Melii’s past, from the painful memories to the major triumphs that ultimately led to her breakout success.
