PURE COMING AUGUST 3rd; COVER ART AND TRACKLISTING REVEALED
Diana Gordon, the Grammy-nominated singer / songwriter / producer has announced the release of her debut EP, PURE, along with the official video for her first single, "Kool Aid". Described as a "loners' anthem", "Kool Aid" lyrically and visually reflects on Gordon's relationship with a younger brother she raised and an older brother that went missing sixteen years ago. The video for "Kool Aid", which was conceptualized, co-directed and designed by Gordon herself, is filled with a familiar kind of nostalgic innocence - blissful and heartwarming scenes of a young boy and girl playing, unaware of the raw industrial world around them. Inside of this world, there are also animals, a couch skillfully made of real live moss and an outlandishly large bag of sugar for the song's kid-familiar favorite Kool-Aid, because everyone knows you can't just use a little.
The release of PURE is meant to bring the listener back to the beginning. This EP is a culmination of Gordon's childhood memories with the musical and cinematic influences of a 90's kid.
With grungy guitars set over trap drums, infectious melodies and soulful vocals, Diana re-imagines what ALT sounds like. PURE is the result of a hard working woman who has faced an exceptional amount of adversity but has gone on to do great things with her life. Gordon's achievements range - her music has been heard in movies and television, and taken her all over the world on to the biggest stages. She's graced the pages of Vogue and has written hits for some of the most iconic female artists of the 21st century, With that has come the full circle realization that in order to inspire, she would need to be honest with the details when telling her story. Gordon uses PURE to rip the band-aid off and live in her truth, in hopes to inspire someone to keep fighting the good fight as she continues to do.

Gordon was born in Jamaica, Queens , NY. She knew of her father only in whispers and through secrets of the dark sins he had committed before she was born. Her mother was well educated but struggled with darkness of her own. After Graduating from LAG, New York's most prestigious public arts high school, Gordon took on many jobs to support her siblings and herself. Still a teenager, she was working in a night club when a CD of original songs she recorded landed into the hands of Mary J Blige who was a frequent at the club and a friend of the owners. After listening Mary took Diana under her wing and presented the opportunity to write songs for her. Diana landed the title track on Blige's album The Breakthrough.
