With the success of his recent remix of Mazde’s ‘Fading Out ft. Rromarin’ only just behind him, Melbourne-based creative Dugong Jr has wasted no time in delivering his next big thing, this time the'Voyager (ft. Ruby Chase)' single, to be released via renowned taste-maker Majestic Casual.
Continuing his trend of impressively layered and textured productions, Dugong Jr has enlisted the help of vocalist Ruby Chase to bring us ‘Voyager’, a track that blends influences of disco, jazz and 8bit, sprinkled with a flavor of his roots in bass music. The vocalist burst onto the scene early last year with a huge collab with Bad Royale, released on Diplo’s Mad Decent. Fusing elements of pop, R&B, soul, and electronica, the songstress lures you in with her soulful melodies and seductive, sultry and haunting vocals.
Ruby’s vocals float over an array of perfectly timed synth leads and cute pieces of percussion, with lines that could make anybody’s heart melt. Dugong Jr throws his own voice on there too, alongside a classy guitar solo to see the track off. His pairing with Ruby’s unique vocal tone feels both effortless and natural, and the track screams Summer vibes all year round.
