Enlisting grime originals Monkstar and Godsgift for the albums lead single ‘Tryna Get By’, the track is standardly shellers. Nostalgic synths twang across a deep reverberating bass while the catchy hook sounds off against a brazen backdrop that is topped off perfectly by the ad-libs peppered in to the mix.
Speaking of the collaboration Godsgift says: “As soon as J-Fresh sent it to me I saw the potential & straight away I could also hear Monkstar on it too so we lined that up. I wrote my verses in 20 minutes cah I was gassed about my vision & the rest is history.”
Set for release on the 27th October and running with the fruity theme of his previous juicy releases, the Fruit Salad album follows on from the Pineapple and Banana E.P’s. Names such as DJ Target, Charlie Soth and DJ Olos appear on the tracklisting alongside DJ Ironik, Lady Ice, Predz UK, Shaodow and Serocee making it an action packed, 15 track combo of dynamic production skills and talent.
Having already built a solid reputation in the DJ world through his own syndicated show on over 50 stations, his online interviews and his residency on Charlie Sloths BBC Radio 1Xtra show, J Fresh is more than suitably qualified when it comes to music production. Combining all of his talents to present his work to the world, he has smashed out an epic Back2Back with DJ Target on BBC Radio 1Xtra and following a KissFM mix early in the year, has another one in the can to let off!
