Today SG Lewis shares the video for his new single ‘Times We Had’. The track, featuring New York singer Toulouse, is his first solo cut this year and follows recent collaborations with Dave and Ray BLK.
Check out the video here! Directed by Lyle Lindgren (A$AP Rocky, Goldie), the video pays homage to Gravediggaz era Rza and Lindgren’s obsession with gold fangs. On his inspiration, Lindgren said: “The 1st set of gold fronts I owned was a set of six 14k gold tops with the gold fangs that I copped in New York one summer; I'd ride around on the subway late at night with them in eating chicken and waffles and conversating with young G's on the L train. This is what sparked the idea for the video, the perfect camouflage for vampires to do dirt in a modern day setting."
Initially cutting his teeth as a club resident, SG Lewis made a name for himself with the warm, bass-heavy embrace of his debut ‘Shivers’ EP and signature remixes for London Grammar, Flume, Disclosure and label mate Jessie Ware. The release was a springboard into international acclaim and his follow-up EP ‘Yours’ gave SG notoriety as a go-to producer for the best upcoming talent, a reputation he made good on after crafting Ray BLK’s breakout track ‘Chill Out’.
