L.A. RAPPER JAY 305 RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM TAKING ALL BETS
ON INTERSCOPE RECORDS

L.A. rapper Jay 305 makes his long-awaited full-length debut today with Taking All Bets. Released via Interscope Records (The Other People’s Money Company), the album features lead single “Yuck It Up”—a track that’s already earned over 750,000 views on VEVO alone.
Taking All Bets features appearances by some of the most major players in hip-hop today, including Travis Scott (“Why You So Nasty?”), YG (“All Around The World”), Dom Kennedy (“Pretty Girls”), and Omarion (“When You Say”). Two years in the making, the album was created with producers like Mike & Keys (Snoop Dogg, Riff Raff, Casey Veggies), Mike Free (Ty Dolla $ign, Tyga, Trey Songz), and Ear Drummers’ Dj Fu.
Originally from South Los Angeles, Jay 305 made his breakthrough with the 2012 single “Youzza Flip.” The national hit quickly put him in high demand, and within a year he appeared on tracks by YG and R&B star Chris Brown. By the end of 2014, Jay 305 had landed his deal with OpM/Interscope Records.
Arriving in early 2015, “Thuggin’” marked Jay 305’s debut single for Interscope and his biggest commercial release to date. In October 2015 he released his Inner City Hero mixtape, then used several of its tracks to create a provocative short film of the same name. Premiering via Paper Magazine in August 2016, the film both confronted police brutality and urged audiences to remember that “police are human too.”
Born Jay Cummins, Jay 305 was raised by a Jamaican-immigrant single mother in the Crenshaw District of L.A., where he grew up on hip-hop heavyweights like N.W.A and Geto Boys. At age 11, his mother sent him to live with relatives in Miami in an effort to keep him off the streets, a move that eventually saw him serving time at a boot camp for troubled teens. Years after returning to L.A., Jay 305 began attending open mics at the Rap Pit, and soon started working on music of his own.
Jay 305’s most expansive work yet, Taking All Bets was both conceived and realized as a lifestyle album. “For me to write a song, I have to live the life,” he says. “I’m a mack with the ladies and a player in life, but I’m the big homey now so the wisdom and game that I have, I’m going to give you that, too.”
